For over a decade, I’ve been immersed in the world of design, working as an in-house designer for various companies. Each role taught me valuable lessons and gave me a deep appreciation for how small businesses operate, but I never quite found the perfect fit. Then, in June 2024, everything changed.

I was laid off.

At first, I struggled. It wasn’t just about finding another job; I wanted a role that truly sparked joy and aligned with my passions. Freelancing had always been in the back of my mind, but I wasn’t sure I was ready to take that leap. However, after countless rejections and ghosted applications, I realized that perhaps the path I was seeking didn’t exist.

I needed to create it.

So, I took a chance. I launched my own freelance business, determined to chart my own course. Now, I choose the projects I work on and collaborate with like-minded clients who share my passion for creativity. The freedom to build authentic business relationships while growing my skills as a designer has been transformative. Every day, I wake up excited to do what I love, knowing that this journey is one I’ve crafted on my own terms.
